Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at Norah's birthday party on Saturday, then a few days later we got to celebrate her real birthday on the 18th with a fun outing to the pumpkin patch!  It was a little cold and windy, but still a great afternoon to find the perfect pumpkin for carving later with our friends, The Croningers.

After such a big celebration on Saturday, we kept it low key on her actual day with hostess cupcakes and a number 3 candle because we couldn't find the number 1. Sorry sweet girl! (Let it be noted that this was before the demise of hostess. If only we'd have known, we would have stocked up!)

A few days later we went to our friends, The Croningers, house for our 8th annual pumpkin carving extravaganza.  Our little pumpkin had fun getting in the pumpkin!  We had a wave of unseasonably warm weather and it was fun to be outside in the sunshine in shorts and t-shirts.

Mandy, Bryan, Erich, and I carved pumpkins together 8 years ago as one of our first double dates. Over the years we have expanded quite a bit.  It's so much fun to get our families together and we love this fun tradition.

When we picked the huge pumpkin to carve, we also let Avery pick a couple of baby pumpkins.  She picked one for her and one tiny one for Norah.  One Sunday afternoon we busted out the paint and let her go to town.

Showing off our masterpieces.
