Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween Avery asked to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.  After seeing how expensive a lot of the Dorothy dresses online were, I decided to try my hand at making her costume figuring it would be a little more budget friendly.  It turns out sewing a Dorothy dress is just as expensive as buying one.  But I sure did have a great time making it! :) By the time I was done sewing Avery's dress I was a little short on time for Norah's costume and had to throw something together pretty quick.  It was nothing fancy, but our friendly little ghost turned out pretty cute!  Avery's preschool class had a "Fall Program" where all the parents were invited to come watch the kids parade through the room in their costumes and then sing a few songs and recite a few poems.  It was adorable!

Avery and her two little friends Grace and Bridget.  Grace and Avery have been inseparable since they were just a few months old and they are having a blast at preschool together.  Bridget is a new friend that Avery met at school and the three girls have a great time playing together.  It's fun to see our little social butterfly developing new friendships.

When Grace heard that Avery was going to be Dorothy she decided she also wanted to be Dorothy... Dorothy the Fish from Elmo's World.  Here they are performing one of their many finger plays. It was a cute little program!

This is a short video of Avery's favorite song from preschool this Fall. She sang it around the house for weeks.

Class photo.  What a cute group of kids... but Avery was the cutest!

Here's Norah, our little ghost. She wasn't too sure about the costume at first but warmed up to it.

Once again, trick or treating in Northwest Ohio was freezing cold and rainy. It seems to do that every year. Daddy and Avery braved the cold yucky weather and went to just a few houses on our street.

Norah and I stayed back to pass out candy. Norah loved that job! She and Nellie waited patiently by the door for kids to come. We had just the right amount of candy and had fun checking out all the cute costumes.  When Avery and Daddy got home we all warmed up with some hot chocolate. It was a fun day!
