Look How Tall Daddy Is!

Back in August Erich was invited to be a part of a photo shoot for a banner that was hung right outside the main entrance of the hospital.  When the banner was displayed I sent an email out to our immediate family to share pictures and brag about my man.  I've copied the email below. Although this was written almost 6 months ago, the words couldn't be a more accurate depiction of how my heart feels every day about Erich and the work he does.  God has placed Erich exactly where he is meant to be and his unique gifts and abilities are being used every single day...

Family,
As many of you know, Erich was awarded the "Shining Star of the Year" award at the hospital several months ago. This is the equivalent of an Employee of the Year award which is quite an honor considering what a large establishment he works for.  Although he's very humble and even a little embarrassed about it, as his wife I couldn't be more proud of him.  Day in and day out I see how hard he works, how much of his heart he puts into his job, and how highly respected he is by his supervisors, his peers, and his patients.  As a "Shining Star" Erich is becoming the face of UTMC! (reluctantly. He's not as excited about this as I am.)  A couple of weeks ago he was asked to be a part of a photo shoot with a few other stand-out employees and yesterday this banner was plastered up on the side of the the Mulford Library, right next to the main entrance of the hospital.  Of course the girls and I took a little field trip to UTMC this morning so we could be among the first to see it. I included a close up so you can get a better look at my handsome husband, and then a photo of the girls posing beneath it so you can get an idea of how big it really is... it rivals the size of a billboard.  Avery was so excited and couldn't stop talking about how huge Daddy looked.  She's already asking to go back and see it again.  It'll be hanging up for a year so I have a feeling we can make that happen.

Erich is being very bashful about this whole thing, especially because he knows he'll probably be receiving a bit of a razzing from his co-workers. Erich works hard to bring glory to God through his job and although he would prefer not to have the attention, I think Gabby Douglas (olympic gold medalist in women's gymnastics) had a good point when she said "It's a win win situation... the glory goes up to God and the blessings fall down on me."  We are so proud of Erich and thankful for the blessings that he is receiving.
