For Avery's 4th birthday, she decided she wanted a "Dorothy Party". She wore her Dorothy dress from Halloween and with some borrowed Wizard Of Oz decorations from friends and an amazing cake from Aunt Nikki, I think she was a happy girl! We kept it low key as usual, but were thankful that Nana, Papa, Aunt Nikki, and Grandma could come up to celebrate with us (Grandpa had a church meeting he needed to attend. He was missed, but we made sure to talk to him on the phone during the party)

Avery's big present from us was a new bike. It got a lot of use this spring and summer!
The birthday girl and Grandma with her present from Grandma and Grandpa... the sand table with her picture on the box. That also got a lot of use this spring and summer!

Aunt Nikki did it again... she is the master of birthday cakes! The Emerald City made out of rock candy, a rice crispy treat yellow brick road, and all of the Wizard of Oz characters (Happy Meal toys that Nikki had saved from when she was a kid!). Avery's favorite part was the witch's feet sticking out from under the cake. She ate those right away.
As always, we were thankful to have family here to celebrate with us. Little did they know, we had one more surprise in store for them... and for Avery too!...
