For Easter this year we traveled to Marysville and enjoyed a visit with Grandma, Grandpa, and many immediate and extended family members. It was quite a party!
To keep the focus where it belongs, we brought along the Resurrection eggs. This is an activity we do as a family every year that tells the story of Easter in a way that keeps kids engaged and understanding. Each egg contains a prop that relates to the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. In this photo, Avery is holding the last egg... it's empty, to symbolize the empty tomb. He is Risen!
Norah loves the study doors at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Silly girl.
Grandma had a very impressive scavenger hunt for Avery to play. She gave Avery a plastic egg that contained a photograph of an Easter decoration in the house. Avery had to find that decoration where there was another egg waiting for her that contained another photo... and so on, all through the house until the final photo took her to the spot where the girls' Easter baskets were hidden. Avery loved it! Norah was a little young for the game, but loved tagging along.
Easter morning in their Sunday best. Norah hasn't mastered the art of posing for photos yet. Squirmy worm.
Ready for church and Easter dinner with the Staley family! We enjoyed seeing our siblings, nieces and nephews, great grandma and grandpa Staley, aunts and uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins, and so on for an Easter celebration at Aunt Cheryl's house. It was a very full house and a lot of fun... including another Easter egg hunt for all the kids!
A few days later back in Perrysburg the Easter bunny hopped our way and brought the girls their Easter baskets. Avery had a fun time searching the house and eventually found the baskets in the basement.
Norah had a little help from big sister finding hers, but loved diving into everything to see what she got!
It was a great Easter spent with family (although we missed our Stow Piland family this year!). We love getting to share the core of our Faith... what Easter is all about... with Avery and Norah and are thankful that each year they seem to grasp a little more who Jesus is and what He is all about.
