After almost a month of paternity leave, Erich returns to work tomorrow. We both know that it's almost unheard of for a new father to get so much time off (yay for union benefits and vacation time!) and I've tried not to take a single moment for granted. Erich is an incredible father. He has changed countless diapers. He has mastered the art of swaddling. He has made sure that I am napping every chance there is. He has been up in the middle of the night to help calm Avery when she's fussy. But most of all, he has loved and doted on her every second of the day. Avery will never have any reason to doubt that her dad loves her more than anything in the world and that's the greatest gift any father could ever give his daughter. It has been such a blessing to have this time to bond as a family of three. Tomorrow life returns to normal, although "normal" is something entirely different than it used to be. I'm looking forward to getting into a routine with Avery and starting my new job as a full time mom. We sure will miss Daddy though!
Sweet picture!!! You're going to do great Sarah!!!!! I know having Erich there has been a major blessing, but I have no doubt that you're going to rock the mom world!!!! :)
