We are fortunate to live about a 15 minute drive from the Toledo Zoo. We purchase a membership every year and it's the perfect place to meet up for playdates or just go spend a summer morning strolling around. In years past, I've taken the girl once a week or so when the weather is nice. This summer was a little different though as it was very HOT and I was very pregnant. Throw in some back pain, and pushing a double stroller around the huge zoo lost it's appeal for this tired momma. Sadly, we only made it twice the entire summer (which is still enough to make the price of the membership worth it, so at least we didn't waste any money!). I look forward to getting back there a little more regularly in the spring. It's such a fantastic and beautiful Toledo landmark!
Love these cutie girls
The animals are great, but Avery's favorite part of the zoo is the huge (and fast) carrousel that we ride every time we visit. She is going to be our roller coaster loving girl.
While Daddy and Avery are busy riding roller coasters, Norah will probably be hanging out with me (not a roller coaster lover) on a bench somewhere. She isn't so much a fan of the fast carrousel. She enjoys it as long as she can hold on to the pole with one hand and squeeze the life out of me with the other hand. I don't blame her!
The zoo is covered with these beautiful statues of the animals just perfect for climbing all over.
Riding the turtles
I look forward to not being pregnant next summer :) and taking full advantage of regular zoo visits with my 3(!) girls.
