How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You

On May 26th Erich and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. In a way it feels like the past 3 years have flown by, but at the same time it seems like this is how life has always been. Either way, it's been a great ride and I can't believe how blessed our marriage has been. The 26th crept up on us this year, as life had been a little crazy in the weeks and days leading up to our anniversary. Erich endured the most stressful time of his career to date (and hopefully ever) as the hospital transitioned to computerized charting and he was responsible for training many of his coworkers to use the new system. On top of that, he came down with pneumonia and after living in denial for a couple weeks, he ended up in the hospital for 4 days! Thankfully it wasn't something more serious and he has since recovered completely. Our anniversary came on the heels of his hospital stay and in the midst of putting our house up for sale, so we agreed to keep it simple and celebrated the actual date with a family trip to Mr Freeze... a Perrysburg icon. It was Avery's first visit and she was not disappointed!

Our gift to eachother (which if we're being honest was more for me than for Erich) came the next weekend when we travelled down to Columbus to see James Taylor and Carole King in concert. Since Erich and I first started dating, he has known that seeing James Taylor perform live has been on my "bucket list". Thanks to the influence of my parents, he has always been my favorite artist and I have a very emotional attachment to his music (as evidenced by the fact that I cried through the entire concert). Seeing Carole King was just the icing on the cake (I have every song on the Tapestry album memorized). Erich was a great sport for putting up with me and I can honestly say the evening ranked high as one of the best nights of my life. An added bonus was getting to sit next to my parents who were also thrilled to be attending the concert. It was the perfect anniversary gift!
