With summertime upon us, there has been much work to do outside the house. This is our first spring/summer in this home (we moved at the end of July last year, hard to believe it's been almost a year!) so we had some work to do with landscaping and gardening. Also, after a long winter Erich wanted to scrub down the deck. Avery jumped at the chance to help with both of these projects and loved every minute of it. She loves to be outdoors and especially likes all of the flowers. She helps me water the flowerbeds every morning and stops to smell each plant. I love watching her soak it all in... what a great reminder to stop and appreciate the beauty around us! (click to enlarge the pictures and see that cute little face!)

It was a messy job, but she loved it.
Avery is such a sweet girl with a kind heart. She is always eager to help in any way she can. Whether it's working outside, throwing something in the trash, or picking something up off the floor so I don't have to bend over to do it, she genuinely is happy to be our sidekick. She has been practicing taking care of her doll baby getting ready for the arrival of her little sister. I can only imagine all the "help" we'll be getting come October!
