(from Erich)
I recently returned from La Ceiba, Honduras. I accompanied 17 other team members on a 9 day mission trip. About a third of us had health-care backgrounds and served in the medical clinic. Others served in the children's nutrition clinic or in the local neighborhoods building houses. Such an incredible experience and so humbling to serve amidst such a beautiful culture.
As a nurse I was stretched to serve beyond what I'm accustomed to in the critical care setting. Most of the patients we saw were children. God blessed me with a heart to serve these wonderful people and I quickly got over my hesitancy to work with a population outside my expertise. God filled me up as he showed me the importance of being Christ outside the United States. I made several wonderful friends and I can't say enough about how good God was to our entire team during this lifetime experience.
