Easter

I'm a little delayed in posting pictures of our Easter weekend. This year we travelled to Stow where we spent the weekend with Nana, Papa, and Aunt Nikki. We had a great visit and enjoyed time with family. Unfortunately, most of our Easter pictures mysteriously disappeared off of the camera (oh the joys of technology). I'll post a few of the pictures that we salvaged. We are very sad that there are no pictures of Nana and Papa! Even though we don't have photo proof, Avery LOVED spending time with them!!

In preparation for an Easter egg hunt that was taking place at church on Sunday morning, Nana did a "practice run" for Avery in the living room on Saturday night. Avery got the hang of it right away and had a great time putting the eggs in her basket!

She definitely had the upper hand the next morning. She went right to town collecting eggs and left the other toddlers in the dust. That's our girl!

The Easter bunny was at the church to take pictures with the kids. Avery was not a fan.

After church, we enjoyed an Easter lunch with Uncle John, Aunt Sue, and cousins Pete and Amanda. Aunt Sue brought little sponge capsules that turned into animal shapes when put into water and fake tattoos! Suddenly a room full of adults turned into little kids again as we enjoyed the blast from the past activities. Pictured above, Amanda is helping Nikki put a butterfly tattoo on her neck.

Amidst all the egg hunts, tattoos, Easter dresses, broccoli cheese casserole, and deviled eggs, it was humbling to reflect on the reason we have an Easter to celebrate. As a parent who is madly in love with my child, I have a completely different appreciation for the God who painfully but willingly sent His only Son to die on behalf of my ugly sin filled heart. Easter has never been more meaningful to me than it is now. We can't wait to share our love for Jesus with Avery as she grows older and begins to understand more. What a blessed weekend it was!
